Every year, Dave and I celebrate our anniversary with a pie. We got married on Pi Day (March 14 = 3.14 = pi). And this year, the tradition continued with a delicious apple pie:
Also, it’s worth noting that 2015 gave us the most accurate Pi Day we will have in our lifetime, since Pi = 3.1415. So that’s fun. It’s hard to believe that six years of marriage have flown by so quickly. When we got home from the Tour, we had been traveling for about half of our married life. Now it’s down to one third. In a way, it’s sad to me that this fraction will only continue to get smaller a smaller. But that’s the reality of life, and we want to make each day its own adventure, making the most of what each season offers. This sixth year of marriage was full of transition, surprises and blessings. Looking back, I wouldn’t change anything. Each step in the process has helped make us who we are. And I am thankful.
This year was particularly special because it was the first time we shared our anniversary as a bigger family–with our sweet Kirby Elizabeth. The timing worked out well, as our church was having baby dedications that weekend. How perfect, that we were able to commit and dedicate our daughter to the Lord the same weekend we celebrated entering into the holy covenant of marriage. Here are a few of the highlight pictures.
