You’ve heard of the Dr. Seuss book, “Oh the Places You’ll Go!” Well, we’ve about decided that with all the places you go, there should be an “Oh, the People You’ll Meet in the Places You’ll Go!” This has definitely been one of the most interesting elements of our travels.

On Saturday morning we took off from Nashville around 9 a.m. with the goal of making it to Kiwanis Park in Fayetteville, TN. We had only been about 10 miles out of town when we pulled up next to a car at a construction stop. The man inside had a huge white beard and a red baseball cap that said “SANTA” in white embroidery. He asked us where we were headed, but as we answered, it was time for the line of cars to move forward. But after we rode another three miles or so down the road, there he was again, at the end of his driveway, waiting for us! He waved us in and asked if we wanted something to drink or if we needed to use the bathroom. So, we decided to take a quick break and refill our water bottles. As we walked inside, he explained that he is a “professional Santa” (we had no idea there was such a thing!), and he pointed out the new Santa costume his wife was making.

So, of course, we had to document our encounter with Santa! We were so glad we were able to meet him without having to go to the North Pole. Honestly, this guy introduced himself to us, but we can’t remember his name… all we can remember is meeting Santa.

Oh, and how awesome is this… turns out this particular Santa is a Christian, so he offered to pray with us before we left. It’s just not every day you get to meet Santa Claus and have him pray a blessing over you!

He's making a list, checkin' it twice...

For some reason, I had Christmas music stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
