The planning process for this trip has been a bit daunting. Where do you even start? Although we’ve been talking about “the World Tour” for three years, we began serious planning in September 2010. Since then, we’ve been purchasing gear, planning route details, obtaining immunizations and packing up our house.
And we’re not even close to being done! A lot of our planning will be done en route. For example, we’ve planned in great detail most of the first leg of our journey–from Maine to Alabama. But as we’re on the road, we’ll start studying maps and looking ahead to the Central American portion of our trip.
There are more details than we could have imagined, but we are trying to take things one day at a time. And now that we’re pretty much done working (Dave has one day left!), we’ll be able to focus more of our time and energy on preparing for the Tour.

bethany, I am in total shock and awe ( original huh? ) How could I have missed something so big. I discovered your blog tonight and read the entire thing in reverse order. How Jeff would have loved to have a girl like you. Ain,t happening. LOL So when does this crazy adventure end? I am a bit fuzzy on time line.
PLEASE invite us to the end celebration. I have never heard anything more gutsy and want to hear first hand some on the stories. You are officially on my prayer list. My tonsillitis just moved WAY down. Haha
Love you. Be safe out there as Our sweet Lord has been telling me all year, ” ‘Make MUCH of the Blood” It is your protection, your healing , your very life. YOU GO GIRL!!!!!
