For our last Saturday venture with Guatemalensis, we hiked up to Chicabal. This lake is in a volcanic crater, so you have to hike up to the top to see it, then down into the crater to get a closer look. Definitely a steep walk, both coming and going, but well worth it! What a great way to spend our last Saturday with our friends from language school.

From the top, there were 625 stairs down to the lake... very steep!
A Guatemalan-style lookout. You climb up on this thing to get a better view. OK, so it probably doesn´t meet construction codes in the US, but it did the job!
